We first start with determining the design/layout of your enclosure. While every opening can be customized, we typically see five types of layouts: a single hinged door, an in-line opening (32”+), an in-line opening with an angled return panel, a neo-angle opening or a steam enclosure.
These doors are typically less than 30” wide. They consist of a single piece of glass with two wall-mount hinges, a handle and the necessary polycarbonate strike and seal. These doors can be frameless or framed.
An in-line opening is best described as a shower stall with three tiled walls and one wall left open. These enclosures are typically 32” wide or more. There are four different layouts for an in-line opening, depending on the width:
Because there are numerous approaches to designing this opening, we will work to come up with the best enclosure for your space based on the layout of your bathroom.
This design can be best described as having two tiled walls and two “open” walls. A typical enclosure of this layout has a piece of fixed glass meeting up to the opening where the door is located. The fixed piece is either the same height as the front opening, is on a knee-wall or on a tub deck. To create the frameless look, we simply use two wall-mount hinges for the swinging door and one 90 degree glass clip (2” x 2”) with one wall mount glass clip (2” x 2”) to hold up the fixed return panel.
A neo-angle enclosure is typically found in smaller bathrooms. It is what most people consider a “corner” shower. There are two tiled walls with three angled bases for the shower enclosure. This enclosure can be installed with or without a header for extra support. Depending on the size of the neo-angled glass, we will advise to you what would work best for your opening.
A steam enclosure can be made out of any of the above mentioned designs. With the addition of a moving transom above the door and anchoring any fixed panel(s) to the ceiling, we are able to create a truly enclosed shower that will allow steam to build within the enclosure. Simply tilt the transom to adjust the amount of steam desired within the shower.
Once you have chosen a design for your shower enclosure, our representative will work on a price tailored to your unique design. When a price has been agreed upon, we move to step three.
After you have agreed that the pricing works for your budget and all the tile within the shower enclosure is complete, we are able to template the opening for the enclosure. At this time we request a 50% deposit to move to the next step- ordering.
Once measurements are complete and we received your deposit, we order your glass and hardware. At this time, the glass takes about ten to fourteen business days to produce. Therefore our turnaround time is generally about three to four weeks from measurement to installation.
When all of your glass and hardware are ready to be installed, we will give you a call to set up an installation appointment. We offer morning and afternoon appointments for your convenience. Depending on the size of your shower enclosure, we could be at your home for two to six hours. We recognize your time is valuable, so we work diligently and as swiftly as possible to build your glass shower enclosure that will last for years to come.
Following the installation of your glass enclosure, we request the balance of the enclosure be paid to the installers or called into the office. As soon as the balance is paid, our one year service warranty goes into effect. Our warranty* covers any leaks that may occur, replacement of polycarbonate sweeps/strikes, readjusting doors, silicone replacement, or replacement of defaced hardware (hardware has a three year warranty).
*As per our manufacturer’s limited warranty, we cannot warrant or guarantee against the breakage of any tempered glass installed in a home.
